4. What is iUgo designed for
iUgo is a specialised teacher planning software that brings all components of best practice planning together in one location.
We know that professional documentation can be really cumbersome for teachers who need a simple way to prepare and collate their planning in one location. It can also be time-consuming to navigate different sites to locate curriculum objectives along with other content necessary for planning. iUgo is effective for beginning teachers as it helps them build confidence with their planning and reminds experienced teachers of what they need to cover, especially if there have been changes to plan requirements or the curriculum.
For the school it means that planning is uniform across different classrooms and year levels. Management can have confidence that every teacher will be able to present quality and professional documentation of their planning. When ERO comes to visit then it’s a very simple procedure for us to supply a guest login so they could view all the planning needed, or for planning to be exported from iUgo as a PDF.
5. A look inside the program
- Student management tool (have classes, students, groups open)
where teachers can upload students and create groups / they can manage groups for any subject and highlight priority learners across all subjects.
- Resource library and file management (have Teachables and Filebox open)
Teachers can upload files or web links they might like to use in future, with quick access to this within their plans. If they need something more inspiring they can access a full library of NZ curriculum aligned content.
- Most importantly the planner (have unit plan, weekly planner, daily planner, long term planner, and curriculum coverage open.
Teachers can create unit or inquiry plans - weekly or sequential lessons
Within these plans they get access to a large bank of curriculum content such as achievement objectives, key competencies, content unique to specific curriculum areas such as science capabilities or digital technologies progress outcomes.
Saving teachers time by providing a template plan with all it's content filtered to the right learning areas and levels so all they need to do is click and fill out the plan.
They can create weekly timetables and long term plans - we have specialised features in place where a teacher can link unit plan lesson content to these other plan areas and create a synchronisation between the two. - for example when my unit plan lessons are linked to my weekly timetable, I can work out of my daily planner and those notes will auto save back to my unit plan lessons.
School managers at any time, can jump into their own iUgo account and perform plan checks and place feedback which can only be seen by the owner of that plan.
All planning documents can be shared between teachers so they can make it their own, or teachers can collaborate together on the same document.
Lastly Teachers and school managers can review the coverage of the curriculum and check what has or has not been taught for a class, group, student over a chosen time period - allowing them to easily build future plans based on what has not been covered yet.
